Install the extension in Chrome

Chrome installs this extension from a folder on your computer. Load the unzipped folder, not the zip file.

1. Download the zip

Click Download google_map_scraper.zip. Chrome saves the file to your Downloads folder.

2. Unzip it

Right-click google_map_scraper.zip and choose Extract All.

3. Open Chrome extensions

In Google Chrome, open a new tab and go to chrome://extensions.

4. Turn on Developer mode

On the extensions page, switch Developer mode on. It is at the top right.

5. Load the folder

Click Load unpacked. Select the unzipped folder that contains manifest.json, then click Select Folder. SmartGoogleMapExtractor appears in the list.

6. Open it on Google Maps

Pin the extension from the puzzle icon in the Chrome toolbar if you do not see it. Open https://www.google.com/maps, click the extension, and sign in with your Smart Email Extractor account. New accounts can be created on the signup page.

Update later

Download the zip again, unzip it, then on chrome://extensions click the reload icon on SmartGoogleMapExtractor. If Chrome says the manifest is missing, you selected a folder that does not contain manifest.json. Choose the folder that does.
